Landing waves, and what the drive is like at that hour
Most people coming home to Pune from North America land at T2 after 20 hours or more of travelling, often on a connection through London, Frankfurt, Dubai or Singapore. Air India's flights from the US land around midday, and its new Toronto flight is due in the afternoon. Connections through Europe and the Gulf tend to land late at night.
Two landing patterns matter. The direct flights land in daylight: Air India's US flights landed between 11:50 AM and 12:30 PM on the summer board, and the Toronto flight is due at 2:10 PM. For a 2:10 PM landing, book the pickup for 2:55 PM and expect to reach Pune between 5:25 PM and 5:55 PM. That drive leaves Mumbai as the afternoon traffic builds on the Sion–Panvel road, so it is the slower one. Connections through Europe and the Gulf usually land between 11 PM and 4 AM. Then the expressway is close to empty: land at 2:10 AM from London and you can be home between 5:25 AM and 5:55 AM.
When flights from USA and Canada land at T2, and when you reach Pune
Book the pickup 45 minutes after the scheduled landing, for immigration, bags and customs. The drive to Pune then takes 2.5 to 3 hours.

From the aircraft to the car: immigration, belts, customs, meeting your driver
- Immigration. Have your passport and visa ready, plus the e-Arrival card QR code if you travel on a foreign passport. Indian passport and OCI holders enrolled in the government's Fast Track Immigration programme (FTI-TTP) can use the e-gates.
- Baggage. The screens in the hall show your belt.
- Customs. Use the green channel if you have nothing to declare and the red channel if you do. Under the Baggage Rules, 2026, goods worth up to ₹75,000 come in duty-free for residents, tourists of Indian origin and foreigners on a non-tourist visa, and up to ₹25,000 for tourists of foreign origin, plus one new laptop for each passenger aged 18 or over. Up to 2 litres of alcohol and up to 100 cigarettes can come under that allowance, and family members cannot pool their allowances (CBIC traveller guide).
- Arrival hall. Walk out of the arrival hall to the multi-level car park, where the airport keeps pre-arranged transport.
- Level 5, general parking. Your driver meets you here. Call him on the number we sent on WhatsApp and he will guide you to the car.
How long from landing to the car? Mumbai airport does not publish an immigration time. We plan 45 minutes from the scheduled landing to walking out of the arrival hall, which covers immigration, the belt and customs on a busy international bank. If you travel on a foreign or OCI passport, file the e-Arrival card before you fly: travel guides report that passengers who arrive without one are sent to kiosks near immigration to fill it in, which adds time at busy hours.
Give us a pickup time about 45 minutes after your scheduled landing, and your flight number. We track the flight, and if it lands late the pickup moves with it. Paperwork before you fly, and other tips
- After a long-haul flight, give yourself the full 45 minutes before the pickup time. Immigration after a big overnight bank can be slow, and the first 30 minutes of waiting are free anyway.
- Foreign passport holders, OCI cardholders included, must file an e-Arrival card online within 72 hours before landing, on indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival or the Su-Swagatam app. One form covers up to five family members. Many families flying in from the US and Canada travel on mixed passports, so file for the children and parents who hold foreign ones.
- If you want to sleep on the way home, book one of the six-seaters, the Kia Clavis EV or Toyota Innova Hycross, for the most room. The fare includes a 15-minute refreshment break if you want to stop on the expressway.
Which car for your bags

Flying in from USA and Canada: common questions
Your scheduled landing time plus about 45 minutes for immigration, bags and customs. For Air India's Toronto flight, due at 2:10 PM, that is 2:55 PM. Give us the flight number too, so the pickup follows the flight if it is late.
We track the flight number you give us, and the scheduled pickup moves with a delay, so the 30 free minutes of waiting start from the new time. If the airline puts you on a different flight, send us the new flight number on WhatsApp and we move the booking to it. Cancellation is free more than 4 hours before pickup.
At Level 5 general parking in the T2 multi-level car park. After customs, walk out of the arrival hall to the car park and call the driver on the number we sent on WhatsApp before pickup; he will guide you to the car. He does not come inside the terminal.

Usually it saves little. A domestic connection means collecting and re-checking your bags, possibly moving to another terminal, reaching the gate well before that flight, and then a ride home from Pune airport at Lohegaon.
