Landing waves

Landing waves, and what the drive is like at that hour

Flights from the Gulf land at T2 at almost every hour, in four waves through the day and night. Gulf schedules have also changed at short notice through 2026, so the flight number on your booking matters more here than anywhere: it is how the pickup follows a retimed flight.

Dubai flights land in four waves. The night wave, 12:35 to 4:20 AM, gives the easiest drive: land at 12:35 AM and you can be in Pune between 3:50 AM and 4:20 AM. The morning wave, 8:15 to 9:10 AM, puts the car into Mumbai's morning traffic. The afternoon wave, 1:45 to 5:40 PM, is the slowest: a 5:40 PM landing means a pickup at 6:25 PM and the Sion–Panvel road at the evening peak, so expect the full 3 hours or a little more. The late-evening wave, 8:45 to 11:55 PM, clears the city after the rush.

When flights from Dubai and the Gulf land at T2, and when you reach Pune

Book the pickup 45 minutes after the scheduled landing, for immigration, bags and customs. The drive to Pune then takes 2.5 to 3 hours.

Scheduled landings as shown on the CSMIA arrivals board, 11 August to 19 October 2026 (summer schedule), unless noted. The board summary does not name the airline for every flight; your ticket does. Winter timings start on 25 October 2026. Rows marked "check your ticket" are not confirmed. Last checked 19 October 2026.

From the aircraft to the car: immigration, belts, customs, meeting your driver

  1. Immigration. Have your passport and visa ready, plus the e-Arrival card QR code if you travel on a foreign passport. Indian passport and OCI holders enrolled in the government's Fast Track Immigration programme (FTI-TTP) can use the e-gates.
  2. Baggage. The screens in the hall show your belt.
  3. Customs. Use the green channel if you have nothing to declare and the red channel if you do. Under the Baggage Rules, 2026, goods worth up to ₹75,000 come in duty-free for residents, tourists of Indian origin and foreigners on a non-tourist visa, and up to ₹25,000 for tourists of foreign origin, plus one new laptop for each passenger aged 18 or over. Up to 2 litres of alcohol and up to 100 cigarettes can come under that allowance, and family members cannot pool their allowances (CBIC traveller guide).
  4. Arrival hall. Walk out of the arrival hall to the multi-level car park, where the airport keeps pre-arranged transport.
  5. Level 5, general parking. Your driver meets you here. Call him on the number we sent on WhatsApp and he will guide you to the car.

How long from landing to the car? Mumbai airport does not publish an immigration time. We plan 45 minutes from the scheduled landing to walking out of the arrival hall, which covers immigration, the belt and customs on a busy international bank. If you travel on a foreign or OCI passport, file the e-Arrival card before you fly: travel guides report that passengers who arrive without one are sent to kiosks near immigration to fill it in, which adds time at busy hours.

Give us a pickup time about 45 minutes after your scheduled landing, and your flight number. We track the flight, and if it lands late the pickup moves with it. The first 30 minutes of waiting are free, counted from the scheduled pickup time. The driver's name, phone number and car number reach you on WhatsApp before pickup. Flow based on the CSMIA arrival guide.

Before you fly

Paperwork before you fly, and other tips

  • Families flying in from the Gulf often travel with more bags than a four-seater takes. Tell us how many people and how many big bags when you book, and we will tell you straight away whether that is one car or two.
  • Flying in from Abu Dhabi on Air India Express? That flight lands at Navi Mumbai airport (NMI), not T2. It is a different pickup on a lower fare: see the Navi Mumbai Airport to Pune cab page.
  • Foreign passport holders, OCI cardholders included, must file an e-Arrival card online within 72 hours before landing, on indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival or the Su-Swagatam app. One form covers up to five family members.

Which car for your bags
