Why Singapore and Tokyo flights mean a daytime drive
Flights east are the odd ones out. Singapore Airlines leaves Mumbai at 11:45 AM and Air India's Tokyo Haneda flight at 4:15 PM, so the Pune pickup falls in the early or mid-morning and the drive has to get through Mumbai's daytime traffic. There is also a late-night Singapore bank, plus about 15 flights a day to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Bali, Jakarta and Vietnam.
For the 11:45 AM Singapore flight leave Pune between 4:15 AM and 4:45 AM, which clears the expressway before the morning build-up. For Tokyo Haneda at 4:15 PM it is between 8:45 AM and 9:15 AM, and that drive reaches Mumbai in the late morning while the city's traffic is still heavy, so take the earlier time. The late Singapore flights (11:25 and 11:40 PM) need a Pune pickup around 4 PM, into the evening rush.

Common connections
No nonstop flight from Mumbai to Australia appeared on the T2 departures board between August and October 2026. Air India launched Mumbai to Melbourne in December 2023, but we could not confirm it is flying in 2026, so check with the airline. Most travellers to Australia connect in Singapore, with Hong Kong and the Gulf hubs as the other common routes.
